TEACHER TRAINING

Pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace
and skill reflected in the way you walk, play, and work.

PILATES TEACHER TRAINING
The Pilates Connection offers teacher training through an apprenticeship program that prepares participants to teach Pilates with confidence and cultivate a foundation for life-long learning.  It also prepares students to take the Pilates Method Alliance Certification Exam.  This apprenticeship program is comprehensive and includes training in matwork, reformer, low chair and the caddillac, AND how these venues work together in a "system of exercises" to develop the body for optimal health.

Minimum hours to complete our teacher training is 450 hours, more may be needed to successfully pass the final practical teaching exam and personal demonstration of the work. Activies include:

  • Taking private sessions/classes and doing independent workouts to develop Pilates in one's own body.
  • Observing teachers in both private and group teaching.
  • Practice teaching others and guiding them through the classical levels of the Pilates Method.
  • Weekly meetings with your assigned mentor.
  • Co-teaching clients in private/class sessions with an instructor.
  • Studying anatomy and the history/philosophy of Pilates.

This training program provides a high level of individual support and connection, but it also requires an individual to be self-motivated.  Individuals can start anytime, and the program is structured in 3-month blocks.  A person can take as many 3-month blocks as necessary in order to complete this training program.

If you are interested in studying Pilates with the intention of teaching, call Kim Moriyama, Founder, at 970.259.0089 to see if this program is right for you.
